Because the long floats of yarn are easily abraded and tend to pick up and hold dirt. After finishing this process the Satin is give an elegant luster that the weave creation. This fabric is used to make a wide variety of materials. Satin weave made with synthetic fiber is used to wool crepe and velvet.

When cleaning these fabrics is to dry clean them, particularly those made with very fine materials or lots of floating threads.
